Both AAC and Opus are lossy, so this conversion decodes AAC-LC and re-encodes it as Opus. That second encode adds its own loss on top of the first. Choosing a higher bitrate, up to 256 kbps, keeps the damage small enough to be inaudible in most material.
Be aware that you are narrowing playback: AAC is natively supported on 4 platforms where Opus is not. Convert this way when you need the format specifically, not for portability.
If your source runs above 48 kHz, it will be resampled: Opus cannot store the 96 kHz that AAC allows.
