This extracts the audio and discards the video entirely. The soundtrack inside a FLV file is typically AAC, and it is re-encoded to Vorbis on the way out.
Expect a much smaller file. Video accounts for most of the bytes, so about 34 MB per minute becomes roughly 1.6 MB per minute of OGG.
Extracting OGG audio from a FLV video pulls the soundtrack out of the Flash Video container and writes it as a standalone Ogg file. The video stream, which holds most of the data, is discarded.
Developed by Adobe (Macromedia) in 2002, FLV carries H.264, Sorenson Spark, or VP6 video and AAC or MP3 audio. That combination sets the upper bound on what any conversion can preserve.
OGG was introduced by Xiph.Org Foundation in 2000. It holds lossy-compressed audio (Vorbis) and plays natively on Android.
