Transcribe anything you watch or hear in your browser
The Scriptivox extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox turns the video on a page, a link, a browser tab, a meeting, your screen or your microphone into an accurate transcript, with speakers and timestamps. Captions are free, with no account.

Free captions
On a YouTube video with captions, see them in the side panel straight away. Copy them, or download them as TXT, SRT or VTT. No account needed.
Transcribe this page
One click sends the video on the page, or a link you right-click, to Scriptivox: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and direct file links.
Record a tab
Record a lecture, a webinar or any video while it keeps playing for you, with your microphone if you like. It is saved as it records, so a crash doesn't lose it.
Meetings, without a bot
Record Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Webex calls from the meeting's tab, with your voice and everyone else's. No bot joins the call.
Screen and microphone
Record your screen or a window, or just your microphone. Keep a video copy of a screen recording on your computer if you want one.
Your library in the side panel
Your transcripts beside the page, with search, summaries, chat, and TXT, SRT, VTT, DOCX and PDF exports. Open any of them in the full editor.
Privacy
A screen recording's video stays on your computer: Scriptivox receives the sound only. Captions are read in your browser and never sent.
Nothing from the extension is sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
Read the privacy policyYour plan, everywhere
The extension uses your Scriptivox account: the same plan, limits, languages, speakers and exports as the website. Without an account you can still read captions and try it as a guest.

Is the extension free?
Yes. Installing it and reading captions is free. Transcriptions use your Scriptivox plan, the free plan included, with the same limits as the website.
Does a bot join my meetings?
No. The extension records the meeting from your browser tab, with your microphone, so both sides are heard. No bot appears in the call.
What happens to my recordings?
The sound is uploaded to make your transcript and kept with it in your Scriptivox library, exactly like a file you upload on the website, under your plan. Both stay until you delete them.
Which browsers does it work in?
Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a computer. Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and Arc use the Chrome version. On Firefox it records your microphone; recording the sound of a tab or the screen needs Chrome or Edge.
Can my company install it for everyone?
Yes. IT administrators can install it with their browsers' enterprise policies, turn off guest use or recording, block recording on chosen sites, or allow only accounts on the company's email domain. The extension's settings link to the details.
